Wavemaker is getting quite near to the imagination of creating Rich Internet Applications without writing code. The screencast is yet impressive and gives a useful overview of how e.g. Ajax applications can be done “in the future”. Though some basic database knowledge is required, this solution looks quite easy to use (within your browser).
I’ll give it a try and hope I can come back with some more infos and experiences.
