Mindmeister mausert sich wie es aussieht … Eine sehr cool Idee finde ich ein Buch als Mindmap darzustellen, wie Dan Taylor es hier macht. Vermute das wirds schon länger geben, aber die Information so aufzubereiten, dass sie quasi nicht linear sondern verknüpft (eben als Mindmap) dargestellt wird, finde ich schon sehr spannend. Mindmaps sollen ja den Vorteil haben, die Kreativität anzusprechen. Sie werden also eigentlich bevorzugt zur Generierung von Ideen, Informationen usw. eingesetzt.

Bereits vorhandenen Inhalt in dieser Weise darzustellen, wird demnach das Gehirn ebenfall besser ansprechen, in dem Fall die Informationen eben leichter zu verarbeiten. Dass sich der Mindmeister-Meister nicht nur auf Bücher sondern auf verschiedene Arten von Informationen (z.b. TED Konferenzen, die Royal Lineage, … ) bezieht und dabei vor allem auf Bilder setzt, finde ich schon sehr nett.

Nachdem ich über Dan Saffer‘s letztes Buch Designing Gestural Interfaces auf den Herren Henry Dreyfuss und sein Werk Designing for People gestoßen bin, möchte ich an dieser Stelle einmal Google Books erwähnen, auch wenn mir das ganze doch irgendwie nicht ganz rechtens erscheint. Allerdings möchte ich festhalten, dass ich (persönlich) mir ein Buch, dass mir im elektronischen Medium gefällt, ohnehin kaufen würde.

Ich wage also die provokante Frage: “Könnte nicht jedes gedruckte Buch in elektronischer Form erhältlich sein?” Ja ich höre sie bereits, die Kläger. Und, natürlich erkennt man die Parallelen zum Musikbusiness. Aber geht es letztlich nicht da wie dort einfach einfach um neue Geschäfts… (nennen wir es) Ideen? Ich persönlich zahle auch gern für einen elektronische Publikation auf Google Books, wenn es dem Autor (oder den Erben, wenn er bereits tot ist?) zugute kommt.

Letzten Freitag war ich das erste mal seit ca. 15 Jahren wieder in der Videothek in meinem “Heimatort”. Dort hat sich folgende lustige Szene abgespielt, die mir persönlich offenbarte, wie schön doch Papierlisten eigentilch sind. (Dies ist Teil meiner kleinen persönlichen Forschungsreihe “Papier vs. Hochtechnologie”)

Videothekar: Warst aber scho lang nimmer do, oder?
Ich: Naja, des letzte mal war alles noch auf VHS …

Videothekar sieht auf seinem Computer nach: Hm… Wimmer gibts, aber keinen Erhard. Aber Mitglied warst schon einmal?
Ich: Aber sicher, wie gesagt, scho ein Zeitl her?

Videothekar schnappt sich einen auf dem Tisch befindlichen Ordner, in dem sich Mitgliederlisten befinden, fein säuberlich in Klarsichthüllen eingeordnet.
Er schaut unter “W” nach … und findet mich tatsächlich – mit meiner alten Mitgliedsnummer “397”.

Der Herr Videothekar legt einen neuen Namen im System an, mit meiner a l  t e n, dreistelligen Mitgliedsnummer.

Ich: Da schau i aber.
Videothekar: Jetzt hamman wieder reaktiviert.
Ich: Quasi.

Ehrlich gesagt, ich war doch überrascht, wie unkompliziert das Reaktivieren, inklusive alter Mitgliedsnummer, vonstatten ging. Geht doch nichts über Ordner, Listen und Klarsichthüllen 😉

Looking for a Delete – Confirmation dialog I tried to take a look at some iPhone examples… Here is what I found – quite interesting for my opinion. Good to see that it is even hard for Apple to stay consistent.

Delete left / Cancel Right (highlighted)

The Remove Dialog places the Remove button on the right side (highlighted)
and the Cancel button on the left

Another possibility shows the Delete and Cancel button above each other.
In that case Delete is red highlighted.

Voice Memos places the Delete on the right side (red highlighted) and the Share button on the left.

The best opportunity to follow Apple’s iPad presentation for me was via Liveblog (engadget) and Audiostream (businessinsider)

Summary: Ok, they call it iPad, and the description “iPhone on steroids” matches very well for my opinion 😉 It’s a multimedia device with brilliant quality on display and performance as it seems, using the same multitouch behavior used on the iPhone.

But what is the advantage to all the other “multimedia devices”, we already know but never succeed?

For my opinion it’s still itunes, where all these different medias are available, legally. For me the iPad is a transportable, kind of a multi media “shop” … and that’s cool I think 🙂 Which company else has this unbelieveable infrastructure of music, video, applications, books, … ? Answer yourself.

Looks really .. cute 🙂

And the price? The iPad starts at $ 499.- ! US: 14,99 $ for 250 MB and 29,99 $ for unlimited data. International deals by June. All iPads are unlocked!
